As most of you know, I'm supposed to spend the year working as a visiting researcher and Princeton in Asia (PiA) fellow at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) in New Delhi. I was supposed to land in Delhi this past Monday, but unfortunately my visa was rejected for the completely made-up reason that my salary is not high enough (there is no required minimum salary and the DC consular officer arbitrarily created this rule. I know because I called all the other consulates in the US). Typical Indian bureaucracy. Welcome to India?
For now, I'm just sitting at home playing the waiting game until PiA and TERI tell me what I need to do to get a visa...
